Hi Ken,
I remember the post you are referring to. Actually it was over on ChevyTalk. You can find the thread here .

To summarize, the place was Mr Fastner Limited, telephone UK code [44] then 926 817207.

I have not heard of this supplier but would caution that the head size and lengths likely will not be the same as original. 1/2"x12tpi is British Standard and available from many bolt and fastener suppliers in the US. I have checked and can get them here in small town USA but the heads are smaller and lengths not the same as original. So, I would recommend that you contact local fastener suppliers before going over the ocean. I think you will find the cost to be better.

If there is enough demand the bolts can be made with rolled threads, proper lengths and head size. They will be superior to the originals in strength.

Rusty, that is the number I have. A friend has a flat in London he said we were missing a digit. I had tried to call from here with no luck and ask him to check it out.
Thanks,
Ken

Hi Chip,
I don't know what constitutes enough demand, but I have seen this topic come up several times in recent history. I would buy two sets for myself if they were available. How about we start a poll to gauge interest?

Regards,

Chip, depending on the cost. I'll sign up for 3 sets.

Hi,
The head bolts referred to are listed in my Master Parts Book as 1/2" - 12 U.S.S This is known as United States Special.English 1/2" X 12 threads per inch is British Standard Whitworth and they are not available in a hi-tensile grade steel. Also the U.S.S. has an angle of 60 degrees whereas the Whitworth uses an angle of 55 degrees.
The quickest way to get some decent head bolts would be to get some U.N.C. hi-tensile bolts longer than you need, cut them to the right length and machine the correct thread.
