I'm cunfounded :( How is the oil filter constructed ? Where my oil line goes thru the block on my 28,it is connected to a canister that is clamped to the block.Looks like a darn pork&bean can  The inlet end came loose ,so I removed it and re-soldered it.The cannister was empty. The cannister has an inlet and outlet connection attached, but also there's a petcock valve on the lower part of the outlet plate.Maybe this isnt the oil filter? can any one give me any details of this cannister? And if this is not the filter,( which i cant see what the hecK it would ever filter ) what spec's on the filter and does anyone have a pic and mounting specs? dance dance

isn't 28 great

Inside the pork and bean can is a diaper. The fitting on the back end is a metering device that allows only about 10% of the oil to pass through it. The valve on the other end is to check and see if any oil is passing through the diaper. If you open that petcock and oil is not coming out, the filter is plugged or you have no oil pressure. New filters are available from sources like The Filling Station. The filter really does little good. Dale
