I was wondering if anyone knows how much a 1928 Chevrolet Coupe weighs? Is it heavier/lighter/same as other body styles of the same year?

Thanks,

Thanks Ray, somehow I would have expected more. I know of a restored 1931 Chev. Pickup that weighs in at over 2600 and I thought it would be lighter than my coupe.

R.F. It has been my experience that a 1/2 pickup is usually heavyer that the passenger coupe of the same year. Also the 31 has two more cylinders than the 28 and a larger transmission and the springs and frame probably are heavyer. I have been told that around 1930 to 32 the sheet metal on the trucks was one year behind the passenger cars, fenders etc. Anyone else have a comment?

Folks,
I have also continuously heard that Chevrolet used year old sheet metal in pickups, commercial and utility vehicles. It is only partially true at best.

A little history lesson may be in order. Stay tuned to discussion topic.

I think it would be more appropiate to say the trucks used the previous years styling rather than parts because in most areas the parts were not the same.
