I've got a question about the brake cables for my 1920 model 490. Should they be painted? Or should they be cleaned then well oiled to lubricate the strands. drink Thanks

I don't know the answer to that question, but I know how to find out the answer.

Look in the first few pages of the Generator & Distributor, any month's issue will do. You will find the list of "Technical Advisors." Look up who is the correct Advisor for your year. In the case of a 1920 '490' the Advisor is Tom Meleo. He will know, absolutely.

Hope this helps.
