The old '28 did not leak a drop. Hardly used any gas. It performed flawlessly. In fact all this even with a dead battery.
Oh yes, it never left the garage! We took the '31 Fire Truck back to its birthplace Janesville, WI. So with not enough room in the trailer for two we hauled it to Montana, leaving it in Hungry Horse in the care of my aunt and cousin.
We drove the trouble truck on the 4 cyl. tour. It was fun but not as much as with an old 4 banger.
The scenery was spectacular, weather great, fireworks (Canada Day) enlightning and friendship compelling. It is a collection of varied vehicles and personallities. I think that everyone should make at least one tour. That is the best way to enjoy old Chevys and the VCCA. It does not get better than this!!!

Chip failed to mention he only had I customer out of the 47 Pre-29 Chevrolets that toured had to be trailered back to the motel. And that was Pinky's 1914 Light Six that lost power between the clutch and rear mounted trans/axle the first morning of the day one tour to Lake Louise. Back at the Motel it was discovered the front u-joint had lost a pin and a key fell out on the road that was later found by Bob Hensel. It was easily repaired and the only known Light Six completed completed the rest of the tour with only a little plug sooting and oilly brakes because of too much oil in the rear axle. This was the first time we had a Chev 6 on the Chev 4 Tour -way to go Pinky.

Pinky won't be reading this. He told several of us in Mattoon last week that he dosen't have a computer and that he and Joyce just installed an indoor flush toilet six weeks ago.

He told me and several others that his grandmother is expecting a child. I asked him is he tells short stories or tall tales? He said yes! I suspected both.
If you believe all of Pinky's stories then I have a nice bridge for sale. It is an antique and located between NYC and NJ. If you act fast it is half price until the end of the month. Just think of the money you can make by charging a toll.
