I'm courious, how many 1928 Chevy coupes are there around the country compared to Fords ? Are there lots of them or are they few and far between? I've seen a few on the internet but when I ask at car shows if anyone has seen one they laugh and say good luck. Would it be considered a rare car or just another typical old collector car? I have a 28 Landau Chevrolet Coupe. By the way, before I got this I was a Ford man as I had never even seen a 28--30 Chevy . Now I find it's much neater than a Ford!

The Gods just woke me up! I was dreaming about Elvira. Anyway, there were 150,356 1928 coupes made, making it a fairly common vehicle back then. Even now, there are still quite a few floating around nation wide. I have no production figures on the 1927-28 trucks, but today they are definitely scarce since they were a commercial vehicle. laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

For reference, last year there were 244 - 1927 Chevs registered with the VCCA... This includes all international owners also.

I'd doubt that any other auto organization has as many. So double this number and that's about all that you have left in the world!

Found this Australian 28? chev 30cwt truck on EBAY. The description sounds absolutely fantastic.
I can't understand why people are less keen on trucks. They are so much rarer than the cars and are an absolute blast to own and drive and really turn heads! I have an original condition 34 International C20, currently on loan to a local Museum. Best $2000 AU ($1500 US) that I ever spent. (I will email anyone a photo of my old darling if they are interested)
Tim.

I have a 28 coupe floating around in my garage. It floats from one side of the garage to the other depending on what projects I have going at the time. (Click my profile for a picture of mine.)

Golly Ron !! A timber frame garage, I love what you've done with It. The last time I saw it there was no siding and every time the San Lorenzo River reached flood stage ( about 200 years ) the cars really would float.

When I saw Redford in that movie, "The garages of Madison County" I wondered why they built them over a river! Now I know, to keep from haveing to sweep the floor! Neat old car picture too, R.F.

Thanks MrMack. Actually, that covered bridge is LONG! It stretches over 230 feet across the south fork of the Yuba river and was once part of the Virginia Turnpike Company Toll Road that once served the Northern Mines and Nevada’s Comstock Lode. dance
