How do the rear leaf spring bumpers stay in place? When I removed the old ones, they were just stuck in place from old age. "We cannot solve our problems using the same thinking that caused them" -Albert Einstein

Hi Bill, The bumper that mounts on the axle housing, Bumper, Rear Spring PN 365627 is secured by Retainer PN 344987 as shown in the 4 cyl Parts Book, July 1, 1940. This in turn is secured by the two Axle Housing U-Bolts. New bumpers are available from several dealers such as Gary Wallace and Filling Station and possibly some have used retainers.
