How do the rear leaf spring bumpers stay in place? When I removed the old ones, they were just stuck in place from old age.

Hi Bill,
The bumper that mounts on the axle housing, Bumper, Rear Spring PN 365627 is secured by Retainer PN 344987 as shown in the 4 cyl Parts Book, July 1, 1940. This in turn is secured by the two Axle Housing U-Bolts. New bumpers are available from several dealers such as Gary Wallace and Filling Station and possibly some have used retainers.
