I have been a VCCA member for over 26 years and to date I cannot find a vendor with the correct 28 interior fabric. Anyone out there know of someone? I don't want "close" I am looking for correct. We know it is only one color (green) with a unique pattern. (wide and narrow stripes)
Are there enough 28 owners that need this fabric that we could have a fabric plant run a supply for us. is there a need for this. Any response would be appreciated.

Hi mromano
I think this would be a great thing for the chevy resto's
I don't know of any vendors that would do this.
Retooling a machine to make this, and finding the correct material supplier and all the shipping costs would be very expensive, If you can find a supplier that handles that type of fabric and dyes.
The fabric design you mentioned is a common design with the 28's, but I have seen other design's.
Mine has a diamond print on it, In the green you mentioned.
So more than one retooling would have to be made for the different designs.
This would be a good thing if there was enough demand and the price was not Through the roof.
I'm sure this would go sky high with Chevy resto's as long as the price was reasonable.
Just a thought.

My understanding is there were two interior fabric colors used in 1928. One was green and the other a more tan color. I am presently working on a '28 Coupe that has the tan corduroy with wide and narrow wales (the raised flat top ridges). I also have a '28 Coach that has the green corduroy interior. Have not found anything close to the original in either color. Hampton Coach has a replacement that is probably the best I have found so far. Don't know the number of people that would pay to have the original made. I am probably not as I need to get an interior in my Coupe in the next couple of months.

Hey Chipper
Have you replaced the fabric in your 28 coach???
Did you go through hamptons or another source?
Would like to know what the price was and if you had it installed?
I have a 28 coach myself and trying to do my home work first before I get to that point on resto.
Thanx

Unfortunately I bought the Coach with the interior replaced ~ 35 years ago. Still in good condition but have no source of equivalent material. Have a small piece of original green that was tacked to the back side of the wood piece holding the windshield window mechanism on the Coupe. It also has small pieces of the tan material that have been out of the sun.
