We just returned home from our first Early 6 cylinder Chevrolet Tour. Great roads except for all the "road apples" from the Amish Buggys. Many people learned that Ohio is not all flat. Many hills shifting into 2nd gear.
What a bunch a great people! Met new friends and renewed old friendships.Great conversation with ChevGene, ToolMan and of course BackRoads. We are looking forward to attending other tours in the future.
There were some great cars & trucks there also! How many time's have you seen a 1938 & 1937 Cabriolet?
Thanks to the committee for arranging great destinations. Even with rain each day everyone had a great time.

YES - What a great time.I don't think that the "road apples" were from the buggies.....but rather from the four legged creatures that were pulling the buggies. Talk about polution.Fortunatly we drove thru some heavy rains after or I would never get under my car to lube the chassis again. This ends my long tours for this year.Put on over 5000 miles and all went well.(except it took forever to get thru Chicago last night).

I would like to add my thanks to everyone that worked on making it such a great tour. 272 official miles plus little side trips. The following is a list of the participation. It looks like more of the VCCA older vehicles are going to the tours rather than the meets.
29-1, 30-3, 31-2, 32-7, 33-1, 34-2, 35-3, 36-2, 37-5, 38-1, 39-0, 40-2, 41-7, 42-1, 46-0, 47-1, 48-3, 49-1, 50-10, 51-6, 52-1, 53-7, 54-6.
Good to see and visit with all the old and new friends.

Let me add my 2 cents about the recent 6 cylinder tour. An excellent job by the tour committee, an excellent motel facility (Holiday Inn) who's staff went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, and great tour destinations, the highlight of which was Warther's Museum. These tours just continue to improve each year and they have certainly helped in getting the older cars out again!

Well, guys,.... just remember that "Road Apples" are a natural organic product of digesting grass and hay, They won't contaminate your car nor cause you to have cancer, and they are not near as bad as those pollutants that are being spewed out of the tailpipes of internal combustion engine powered vehicles and are the result of incomplete burning of gasoline and diesel fuel laced with all kinds of meanie old yucky chemicals!!

Mack, You forgot one part of the fuel, OATS. When I returned to our car in Ht. Hope there was an Amish couple looking at the car. He said he was born in 1931 to start the conversation. We talked about fifteen minutes. When they started to leave the man told me that he drives an Oatsmobile. I didn't ask him but I'm sure it is 4 hoof drive.
