I have a 1929 Imperial Sedan. These are the numbers I find on the engine block.
conv 3
835501
A 23 0
9
From what I can figure out this motor came from a 1930 car, is that right?
Could you tell me what all the numbers mean? While I am at it these are the numbers on the body plate.
Fisher Body Corp.
Job No. 8910
Body No. F 1 1 27
1AC 94362
Do any of these numbers tell the paint scheme?
Thanks

Based on the casting date, your engine is a 1930, even though the 1929 cylinder block used the same casting number. Your cylinder block was cast on January 23, 1930

Your numbers break down as follows:
Job Number 8910: 1929 Imperial Sedan

Body Number F 1127: Flint, Michigan Factory, 1,127th Imperial Sedan made in that factory.

1AC 94362: 1=Flint, Michigan. AC=1929 International series. 94362=The number of the run in that factory. The serial numbers started at 1,001.

The paint number was not listed on the Fisher Body Plate in 1929. The paint combination number was stamped on the driver's side wooden main sill, and most of these stamped numbers have not survived.

Bob G., your car was assembled on or about August 16, 1929.
