I am in the process of trying to recreate the interior upholstery on a 1926 Chev Landau Sedan. I checked with Hampton's and they sent me samples of what appears to be different grades and thicknesses of mohair (or mohair type) cloth. But I have noticed from the original fabric that the seats (where you actually put your butt) are some sort of cordouroy or more accurately little tiny squares of a cordouroy type fabric. Does anyone have a better idea what the interior upholstery really looked like, what type of fabric. what colors?

I also have a 26 sedan. The seating fabric is a patterned low-nap wool mohair(as you described it, 'little tiny squares'). The fabric from Hampton is close; but, not quite the same as original.

It has taken me 3 years to find enough NOS fabric to redo the interior. The colors used were limited, I think they were green, brown, and gray. My car has the original gray and the material I have is a match (lucky me).

Good Luck

Bill
