Has anyone had any luck In buying a good car cover. I need to get one for my 32. I will use It In the garage to keep the car from getting dirty and dusty while sitting there. I would like to find one that does not hold moisture Inside when the cover Is on the car. If anyone has had good luck In finding a good quality one, Please let me know. Thanks :) chevy :)

Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories in California used to make dandy car covers. They were light weight and they had plenty of "breathing room" so that moisture wouldn't get trapped under the car cover. However, I don't know if they still make car covers or if they are even in business anymore. I haven't seen their advertisments in a long time. :( :( :( :confused:

Most covers today are "breathable".

What you want to decide is which material you want the cover to be made out of.

Here's a couple of sites that discuss this:
<click here for an overview of what covers do and how to install them>
<click here for a company\'s overview>
<click here for more faqs>
<click here for some more good questions about covers>

And finally, a quick overview of fabric types, if you're too lazy to follow the links chevy

I've had very good luck with California Car Covers for all my cars. I do keep them garaged as you so I would sugest their "Durawave" with is a flannel material on the inside so it's soft on the paint and a cotton like material on the outside that dirt and dust will no bleed through. These cars have worked well in the northern climantes for me as far as being "breathable" Nylon is not. Good luck Terry

For your consideration Chevy,

1. Get the one you can use anywhere (inside or outside), even if you are going to park the car inside. You can always use the cover at shows (it rains sometimes or overnight meets). laugh

2. Mark the front and rear someway so you don't have to keep turning it around (like I did) everytime you put it on. bigl bigl

I think you need to one made for a Model A, F*rd, roadster, (if you are getting one with that body style). :confused: laugh

Well I reccomend the Burge covers sold at Walmart for inside covering, I have had one for several years and it keeps the dirt dobbers off the Chevys....and around $20

Since F*rds are 'common' and Chevys are rare the common cars have their names on the shape (not the cover), but only because they were common. bigl bigl

YIPPIE, I just recieved my car cover from California Car Cover Co. The one I bought Is the All Miscellaneous Car Cover. The cover Fits my 32 coupe perfect and the material Is a flannel-like 4-layer composite Dustop fabric from Kimberly Clark. This cover can be used outdoors on a limited basis, But Is primarily for Indoor use. Including shipping, The total cost Is 192.98. Not a cheap cover, but like everything, You get the best, you pay the price. Their phone number Is 1-800-423-5525 If anyone Is Interested. :) :) chevy chevy chevy chevy :) :)

Chevy,was it the dust at the roadster show that pushed you to getting a cover?With all the rain, dust is kind of a treat here in Seattle,I'm sure Mack would have a different opinion on dust levels.Dust or no dust your"CHEVY"showed real good!!!chef- chevy

Thanks Chef-Chevy. Yes the dust was really something to deal with at the show. The seattle roadster show was really great, And I enjoyed bringing two trophys and 500 dollars cash home. They had about 285 cars at the show and the 32 five window sport coupe brought the sweepstakes trophy home, All five feet of It. It just shows that the chevys have a place to deal with those other brands of cars. It was also fun watching Billy Boy Bill Barker loading his new ten foot wide car hoist onto his eight foot trailer. It really suprised me that he made It home without having the state patrol pulling him over for a over width load, But knowing Billy Boy he slid right by them. :) :) chevy chevy :) :)

DUST......We don't worry about the dust it is the dirt dobbers that we worry about! Walmart car covers $19.99 easy to apply and remove and they are made out of the same material as Kotex.

Hey Junkyard dog, I wont need a cover If I store the car In your dust free show room. It should look good with all the Spirit Of St Louis Memorabilia you have. When do you want me to bring It down to spruce the show room up? yipp yipp

NO, My mangey old doggy breath friend, It has a poured and finished concrete floor covered with 4 and 6 cylinder drippings!, I don't even use floor dri!, I don't intend to egg the dirt dobbers on, nor furnish them with any more ammunition or anything that will make any dust......
