When I purchased my 39, it came with additional parts. The carb. on the running motor is stamped W1, this carb only has two screws holding the cover for the accelerator pump.
The spare also stamped W1 has 4 screws holding the cover.
Wondering which is the correct carb for the 39.

Based on what I know the 4 screw cover was introduced in 1937.

The 4 screw will be correct for 1937 and up.
The carburerors for 1938-1940 are almost the same and the throttle bore will measure 1 7/16"
The W-1 with a 1 1/2" bore are for 1941 and up.
