WANTED TO BUY, TRADE FOR, EVEN STEAL wink

Doing research, have finished "paper" research, now need some physical evidence.

Need one each of the following Carter BB-1 updraft carburetors:

Numbered 257s, 262s, 289s, 289sd, 489s, 586s, 638s, 640s, 641s, 2035s, 2212s, 3377s, 4403s

Coded 4A1, 4A2, 4A3, 6A1, 6B1, 6B2, 6C1, 6C2, 6D1R, 6F1, 6J2, 6J3, 6K2, 6K3, 6N1, 6N2, BB1D

Some of the above are for marques other than Chevrolet, but listed, as I am doing a major article on the Carter BB-1. For those who do not recognize the type, these were used on Chevrolet "Double duty" a.k.a. cab over engine trucks.

I do have a number of duplicate Chevrolet versions for trade, if interest exists.

Carbs MUST have original tags, and be reasonably complete.

Condition is less important. Will accept carbs with stuck chokes or stuck throttles.

Only need one of each.

Jon

Jon,
I have a couple of BB-1 Carbs. I'll take a look to see what I have.
One small correction to your post...Double Duty was the Chevy name for a "Bread Truck" type delivery van. They shared the updraft manifold/carb with the Cab Over Engine trucks.

Thank you Mike.

I stand corrected on the models.

One comment some may find interesting: for a long time there was a mistake in the Carter price lists, that everyone knew about except Carter. The 871S was cheaper than the rebuilding kit. So if a customer took his truck into a Chevrolet dealer for a "carb rebuild"; the dealer would order a new carb from Carter, have the mechanic install the carb, and charge the customer for a carb rebuild. The old carb went back on the shelf.
