What was the original color or finish on the gas tank, filler neck, and straps on a 1936 pickup? Thanks. Mike

The original gas tanks and neck are tinned steel. Straps were probably zinc plated. Zinc electroplating looks very close to the original surfaces and there are zinc platers around the country.

Thanks Chipper, after blasting I could only wish the surface condition would be suitable for plating. It will look like tinned steel as close as possible. Mike
