No! A locking gas cap was not a genuine Chevrolet accessory in 1932. Accessory locking gas caps are currently being reproduced for the later Chevrolets, and they also claim that these locking gas caps are correct for 1932, and that is not the case. laugh laugh laugh laugh

If you want an after market one there is one on ebay now. It is electric and the cap matches a 31 cap. :) :) :) :) :)

Pass, never like to mix gas fumes and something electric. Can you say 'paranoid' (but I still have my eyebrows)?

Not in my life experiences, maybe I have run into more bears then the average person, none were Yogi, Booboo or Teddys

You made me check it out and the one I wrote is the only one I found on the web.

Maybe it was changed in your locale (?).

OK, I just can't help but join in here. Why? Because I've had an old Chevy for so long and nobody to talk to about it with.

While I certainly believed upon aquisition that the gas cap on my 32 was wrong, I'm still using it because I have no other. My car was parked and abandoned by it's original owner in 1957 with a locking gas cap. It still works fine. No leaking/ splash.

Hey, who has stuff for sale like this? A horn, or two, vases, and rear ash trays might be nice to complete this project.

Thanks for the opportunity to communicate with you all.

Vases were not used by Chevrolet in 1931-32, and they are an aftermarket accessory. There are a few places that carry reproduction vases for other models of cars, so you can probably order from them if you want to put a vase in your car. Check Hemmings Motor News for names and addresses of the suppliers. laugh laugh laugh laugh

Did they ever offer vases? My friend and fellow member just bought another members 34 master, and it had them. Both of us are V-8 era guys, this was a big step. I was almost thinking of buying it myself.

In this area vases were never seen in common cars.were mostly seen in luxury cars in the '20s and early '30s.Tend to make the car look too feminine
