Hi All, New 1927 chevy two door sedan owner and trying to figure out exactly what I have. Job No 7220 Body No S18019. I could not find a "vin" plate on the wood where the passenger's right foot would be. The title has the manufacturer number as 3184544. Is this enough information? It has a solid round tube for the front bumper and two round steel tubes on each side of the trunk for the rear bumpers. TIA for any help on this.
The number on the title is likely the engine number. Most states prior to 1955 used the engine number as the "VIN" for titling purposes. That number should be on a machined boss by the distributor. You may need to clean some gunk off to see it. I'm not sure where the data plate would be located. Someone who is able to answer your questions will be along soon.

The number that you mentioned is the number that Tiny is pointing to. It means that that engine block is the 3,184,544th four cylinder block ever made. When they got up to a little over 5,000,000 they stopped making the 4 bangers.
For 1927, there should be a car number plate that is attached to the seat base facing the passenger door. On that plate, if it is still there, the car number should have an AA in the string, which translates to a '27 car.
I suggest you post a few photos to help us help you identify it. You can upload 10 pics per post. Use the Full Editor (see the buttons below) to create your post and use the Attachment Manager within that editor to upload your photos.

I found the plate under some plywood and carpet. The Model is Capitol, the Car Number is 3AA52992. I have not see any pictures with these tube bumpers. Are they a factory item or aftermarket?
It is #51992 made at St. Louis. The first car number starts at 1001 in all Chevrolet factory assemble lines. Your front bumper if factory would look more like this.
