I'm looking for a ignition key for a 1919 Chevy 490. I is a standard looking key with two point fork at the end. I may need the whole iginition/light switch but the key is broke and everything else works. Bob

When I bought my 1922 490, seventeen years ago, there was no key. I removed the ignition switch, took it to the local locksmith. He took it apart, made two keys and assembled the ignition switch for a very reasonable price. I think I have seen that The Filling Station or Gary Wallace, Early Chevrolet parts, sell them, and they vere quite good-looking.

I made my own about 12 years so. I found a picture of one on eBay someone was trying to sell. Copied it, Reduced the picture to the right size so it could fit in the switch. Glued it to a piece of SS sheet metal. Cut it out. It's been working great. It's not rocket science. I even made a spare.

The 1919 490 should have a 2 button switch, which is imposible to find. My 19 had the switch missing ,so I installed a 1920-23 ignition with a key, looks original.
