I tried looking in illustration books and can not see a seal for the speedo gear. This seams to be my largest leak on my Trans. (Unfortunately grandpa who built the turboglides new is not around) does anyone have any suggestions for new seals or gaskets for this? This is on my 57 4dr hardtop that grandma bought when she graduated school and I still have it.

Remove the fitting that goes into the case (one bolt) and pull out the fitting. It should have an O ring aeound iy, The O ring is pobavly the same as he laer ones used in a TH400.
Also possible to leak aound the gear shaft and run into the end of the speedo cable and leak out there.

What adds to the problem is the torque converter leaks down from not being driven and over fills the sump and rear extenson and over comes the seals.

Say HI to Grand Ma for me,

Thanks Gene unfortunately grandma passed last April. We tried the TH400 and power glide seals and neither work. Our biggest leak is as soon as we stop so it's not after days it's within hours and we have cleaned it off and appears to be coming mainly from the speedo gear area.

Yes I did thank you Mike, I have been out of town for work and the wife told me a package was there! Thank You again, once I can get some time at home I will get the car back into the work shop and see if one of the o-rings will work and help the leak!
