changing the inside part of the cable and I'm thinking about using never seize as a lubricant or should I use something else , what do you think ?

It would be a little stiff, for my taste. I don't know how it reacts to cold temperatures. Speedometer cable and vacuum wiper lubes should stay soft when temps drop.

Do not use it for that purpose. It is not designed to lubricate but rather put a barrier between parts to prevent "seizing". Either graphite or lithium would be my choice.

I use white lithium assembly lube.

I no longer use white assembly lube. Had two engines where I used that froze and crankshaft wouldn't turn after a few years. Took them apart, all looked good and rotated when the hard white lube was removed and 10-W 30 oil was used.

I think your local auto parts store will have a specific lube for speedo cables.

Should be able to use vasolene. My '36 says to use that on the Dubonnet spindle shaft.
