I have concluded a deal to buy what I call a barn find...it has been in a warehouse for 22 years. Yes, I know it's a 235 engine. It has been driven several times during that period and started a year ago. I have pics and since I just joined the VCCA, I'm hoping I can get a few posted. Looks like it's going to work. Yep, pics posted.
The owner is a veritable encyclopedia on flat head Fords and there seems to be nothing he doesn't know about them. He has tons of flathead parts. He's got a 48 Mercury and a 51 Ford coupe with the swoopy side chrome, is it a Crestliner? I am getting a large number of spare parts and the opportunity to buy 3 engines: 2 216s and another 235. They were reportedly pulled from the original cars for owners who wanted 350s installed. I really need to buy all three of them since they're offered at bargain prices. I'm hoping to bring it home before the new year. There is a small amount of rust at the braces for the running board on the passenger side, but the rest of the car is rust free. Wish me luck.
