My 1955 powerglide leaks after it is not driven for awhile; like 2/3 weeks.
I was wondering if this is just the way they are or if something can be done to stop it.

It could be considered normal. It is due to the torque converter draining down and over filling the sump.
Keep fluid level down near he add line when the fluid is hot or a little below when cold. It will not harm the PG.
