I look forward to being part of your community, learning a bit about old cars and trucks like the 1954 Chevrolet 3100 (See Image) I am the caretaker of and sharing anything that I may know that could help others along the way.

Welcome! Your truck appears to be in very good condition. Can you share some history?
The '54 Advanced Design truck was a mature and reliable design as it neared the end of a long run. My observation is that the service and assembly manuals for the Advanced Design trucks are good references for the later years of that series.
What transmission is in your truck? 1954 is the last year of the enclosed drive shaft. The 1954 235 engine has full pressure lubrication.
The truck was purchased new by my Grandfather. The truck's primary use was to drive to Little Falls MN to get piglets. There used to be a double decker wooden box that would be filled with the piglets. As a treat my Father would get to make the trip with his Father from time to time. After my Grandfather passed away my father purchased the truck from the family. As a kid in the 1980's I spent a summer using Colorback to draw out the bat dropping stains in the paint and polishing it up.
I am working through some things to get the truck running and a safe to drive after a couple years of not being driven. I believe the fuel pump is bad, but I need to have someone turn it over while I watch to find out.
I believe the Transmission is a 4 speed on the floor with the granny gear, at least that is what my father calls it.
I am looking forward to learning from everyone in this community to keep this old truck going so I can see my Fathers big smile every time we take it out for a spin.
