Does anyone know where I can find a wheel rim for my 1929 LQ Ton and a Half truck? Its a 20" split rim with a heavy ring on the inside and outside.
I'd also consider a more modern aftermarket rim if there were someone out there making them.

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the VCCA's website!

FYI, I looked in one of my parts book and it says that the same rim (same part number: 938075) was used for models LQ, LR, LS, and LT.

It is interesting that in another parts book, the rim for the 1926-1928 one ton trucks (models X, LM, LO, and LP) used the same tire size as the LQ-LT (30-5 or 32-6 or in today's sizes 500-20 or 600-20), but the part number for the rim is different for these older trucks: 938079.

So, a rim from a LR, LS, or LT will definitely work on your truck, but I don't know if the earlier rim will work or not even though they both take the same tire.

I think you'll get more responses if this thread is in the Parts Wanted forum, so I'll move it over there.

Good luck! Dean

Mike,
I have some aftermarket wheel catalogs that cover the 1920s and later. If I read right, the aftermarket supplied a rim that was the same for the late ('27-'28) 4 cylinder trucks as for the '29 and '30.
If this is true, I have some rims that I gathered up for a 1928 truck project. I have extras so if we can verify the fit with pictures, measurements, etc. I can help.
I have a local guy with a '29 truck, who is coming to look for a rim, so maybe that will add some info as well.
Price is $150(ish) depending on condition.
