My 216 CI 1951 seems to be running very rich. After proper adjustment with vacuum gauge, the sparkplugs read dry black after only minimal mileage. Where should I look in the carburetor (?) for something not right? The carburetor is the correct number for the car and has been rebuilt recently. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Float level

Vacuum passage between insukator block and cab. obstucted (should be no gaket here)

Two common areas to start with.

Plugs will look black with lots of idling, cold starts and low speed driving.

Also vacuum power piston could be stuck.
