When I got my 1932 Special Deluxe the original ignition was long gone and had been replaced with what is in the accompanying photo. Obviously not even approaching resembling the original. Any idea where I might get a working original, or reproduction if such are made? Filling Station doesn't have them. Or what would be the most acceptable next best thing?

Is Chip Sweet the same as Chipper? Don't know how to find him.

A restored one can seem rather expensive for such a small component.

As a VCCA member you have access to the club magazine AKA G&D. At the back is a section advertising SERVICES OFFERED. The item you are looking for is called an "electrolock" and there are at least two members that rebuild them. If neither has one available for sale I suggest an ad also in the "Parts Wanted" section of the G&D. While the magazine is perhaps not as immediate as Chat there are many members who do not participate on Chat . Also check Ebay but if it were me I would prefer purchasing from a VCCA member. Good luck on your search.
