lt falls into the 1938 number series. That would put it at the start of WW-2.

Hi Michal, The Filling Station (a business) advertises here on this forum site. It sells technical literature covering your car. I think they might mail to Poland.

The VIN # should be on a metal plate affixed to the car, maybe on the floor by the seat front.

The vin number and various body features may not be the same as a US model.
Do you know what country the car was made in? There may be some things different from the US cars.

I would advise ordring some 1938 litature from www.fillingstation.com. They have an on line catalog.
They will have reprints of the sales books, owners manual and shop manual at reasonable cost.
All valuable for takinng care of your wonderful car.

Gene's post had a typing mistake in it.....the correct website for the Filling Station is

www.fillingstation.com

And I agree that you should consider ordering perhaps the owner's manual from them.

All the Best, Chip

It sounds like he does not have the car, just some piece of paper from his grandfather that still had the engine number. The car was taken to the "East front" and presumably lost. I think he is just curious as to what it may have looked like so he reached out to this site.

Unfortunately I do not have this car and I would like to establish as many facts as possible, I know that these cars survive to this day in small numbers and are located in various European countries. I know where it was bought, I don't know if it came from the Polish assembly plant of Chevrolet Lilpop, Rau, Lowenstein or maybe from the factory in Belgium. I thought there was some Chevrolet data that could be used to link the engine number to the car's VIN. I will use the state archives in Lublin city, maybe they have files from this period. It's nice that I managed to find out that it's definitely a 1938 car :-). I hope to learn more in the future and maybe even buy a Chevrolet this year.
Thanks and maybe someone else will suggest something

In the state archives I found the chassis number 23074XX :-) and the date of first registration at the office in October 1938. I think it came from the Polish Chevrolet assembly plant and it will probably be difficult to determine anything based on this number. I have to look for materials regarding the functioning of this car assembly plant, and it is very difficult due to the limited amount of materials.
