I am wondering if the rear spring saddles (that mount the springs to the axle housing) are supposed to be the same thickness. The one on the right side is about a half inch thicker than the left side. The car has a noticeable lean toward the left. Does anyone have an extra of either side for sale so I could make them the same?

You could make a spacer plate to go between the shorter saddle and the spring.

Add a spacer on the short side or remove a leaf on the high side. Are both springs the same? Sometime in the distant past I heard it was not uncommon for the RH side to be higher to adjust for crowned roads.

That must have been the reason, however, just the weight of the driver alone would probably help to level the car.
The springs are new reproductions.
Have other 29 or 30 owners noticed the tilt?
Has anyone tried to level their car?

Measure the height to the bumper with and without a driver to see if there is a difference. I think a spacer under the low side would be the easiest way to solve the issue.

I have found out that 29 and 30 came from the factory with the thicker saddle on the right side, so the car is intended to tilt possibly to make up for the crown in the roads.

Hi Bare_Feet

My '29 is in the shed out on the farm and so too far away to look at.
Can I ask where you found this information?
I do know that the left and right sides are different part numbers.

The reason they had different part numbers is that they are angled toward the front of the car. The springs are aligned with the frame as it tapers from back to front so the casting had to allow for that taper as it attached to the differential. The axle is truly perpendicular to the center line of the chassis. Check for that taper so it does not bind on the rear end.
