My 38 is missing trim piece at the top the dash near the winshield. I have seen it on other cars but not sure if its metal or cardboard. the ones i have seen have vinly covering them. It goes the length of the dash. Hope I am explaining it right
I kind of suspected he's referring to the garnish molding but I've never seen one made from cardboard or covered in vinyl. Maybe that's what they do when they chop the top??? I would think if whoever chopped the top had the skill to properly chop a top they could also cut the garnish molding down. To the OP, if it's the garnish molding you're referring to it goes all the way around the inside of the windshield, not just across the bottom. It's the one shown below hanging at the far left.

Thanks for the picture. I wasn't sure if it was just on the bottom of the windshield or went all the way around. I assume its metal ? Anyway mine is missing and it makes the dash look bad and unfinished. Does anyone make that piece ?
It's metal. You might start monitoring ebay for someone parting out a 38 and message them. You can also put an ad in the Parts Wanted forum. Edit: These aren't the garnish moldings you're looking for but you might reach out to the seller to see if he has the windshield molding. <CLICK>
