Trying to identafy a chevy V 8 engine number 3970014. I hope this is the correct number on the block. Thanks

Just Google that as a Chevy casting number. It is a 350 with either 2 or 4 bolt mains. Early 70's.

The real info is in the numbers stamped on the pad at the right front of the block.
