I don't quit know how to do this..... I had an ad in the parts wanted section here and was contacted by someone who said they were 36RAGTOP from the VCCA chat forum.... He said that he had the part that I wanted and sent me photos of it from his Email address Which was( hermingsquareinc@gmail.com ) He said that he would receive payment through his wife's Paypal address, which is,
( pisossonosiz@hotmail.com ).... I sent the money Via Paypal, (Transaction# 13V96920FL778531K ) and emailed him proof of the transaction... He emailed back, saying he received it... and said he was sending it priority mail the next day.... well two weeks later... and three emails requesting proof that it was shipped.... to him & his wife ( Maud Occam ).... Now, Nothing received... no reply... Nothing, no more contact...... SCAM....
So just a Warning... a Heads Up.... This person will SCAM you... take your money and Run....

Contact Paypal and file a complaint. You're the second person who's had an unpleasant dealing with the presumed 36RAGTOP. If you do a user search for 36RAGTOP and look at his profile the email listed there is different. The first scam attempt was by a user called coopertechparts who directed the target to the presumed 36RAGTOP at the same email you were advised to use. That club member did his due diligence and did a member search (available to club members) and determined there were too many red flags so he ended the transaction. Coopertechparts has been banned. I attempted contact with 36RAGTOP using their registered email and PM but have not heard back from him/her. While I'm hesitant to ban a dues paying club member I will do that if they don't respond and clarify. Since you used Paypal you have a recourse, you can file a protest with Paypal. If you have your Paypal account tied to a credit card you have another layer of protection by filing a protest with your CC company.

How are you contacted? If by email or method other than a logged in posted reply to your ad on Chat be suspicious.

If you see ANY red flags be wary. Don't let the desire of obtaining a hard to find part lead you into making poor choices.

If you are scammed by a legitimate club member contact a Moderator or club official and let them know.

ALWAYS USE A PROTECTED METHOD OF PAYMENT IF THE TRANSACTION IS NOT IN PERSON!

You might also edit your preferences and display the club logo under your name. I discovered you're a club member instead of just a site user. If the club logo with the MEMBER tag is displayed under your name folks will know up front.

My membership ran out... and I am not renewing it..... I didn't like the monthly magazine...... and I didn't use the other benefits offered members..... The chat forum meets all my needs.... But thank you anyway...

What did you not like about the magazine?

Gene.... I have a very limited interest range...... 1934-1936 cars and 1936-1938 pickups...... So must of the articles don't interest me..... And I am bound to the Homestead/Farm here every day year-round.... so no tours or swap meets for me.... and so there is not much for me to read in them... that is of interest..... it is a Very nice magazine for people who love Chevrolets in general..... and are active in clubs & tours, etc.
I guess that I am just weird and very secluded here in the mountains of New Mexico...... Sunny
