Engine # is OI 455 78 F 4 U And Head # 383 5913 Thinking to buy this rebuilt engine supposedly, out of a 3500 1954 Chevy. truck... But would like your help determining if it is the Full pressure oiled, 245 ci...... I don't have the books to look it up,,, Thanks, Sunny

with the head number it is a later full pressure oiling engine, Do not understand the block numbers

OK Gene... thanks...Now I know it is Full pressure oiler,.... won't the engine or block # tell me the year of the block...??

Are those the stamped engine numbers? What is the casting number?

Those are the stamped engine numbers right next to the starter & dip stick tube.... Where would the casting number be on this engine..?? and what does the stamped # mean...???
