On my newly purchased 1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster Woodie do I need to add a “Lead Additive” to my gas when I fill up?

No. The horror stories of valve recession due to no-lead gasoline are extreme exaggerations,

Hi Buckaroo

I don't think there are any "lead additives" left...
only "lead substitutes".

I thought using one couldn't hurt and would just be extra insurance... until I realized it was very quickly depositing a coating on my spark plugs.
My truck went from running well to idling poorly, to also running poorly at off-idle, and rapidly getting worse.
I probably had the carburetor off 3 times before I finally changed out my almost new spark plugs and cured it.

I haven't used the stuff since.

X3 No. With the low spring pressure of these engines it'll never be an issue.

Lead in fuel wasnt used in 1948 so the engine wasnt built to use leaded fuel, dont waste your money.
