Chevrolet used wood in its vehicles up into the 1930s. Does anyone know what year Chevrolet was the last to incorporate wood in its construction?

1936 for structural wood with the exception of trucks and wood bodied station wagons. Some truck beds still use wood today. Station wagons had the majority of the body made from wood up to 1948. Don't know when the last of the real wood trim was replaced with plastic. Oops, cellulose is a polymer which is commonly called plastic.

My 38 had wooden frame doors and wood around the door openings for hood (roof) lining attachment but the 39 does not appear to have wood anywhere. Admittedly these are Australian models. Tony

That may be true for the Holden bodies but the US Fisher bodies were all steel. The 1939 body was constructed the same as the 1937-38 and was essentially the same body with a major face lift. The only wood used was in the front seat cushion frame. The larger 1937 Fisher body used in the Buick Roadmaster and and Limited and larger Cadillacs was still the wood rienforced 1936 body.

In 1949 there was a choice of a wood trimmed wagon or an all steel wagon with a wood "mid section".The real wood version and the steel version were both available thru-out the year. The wood version actually has an all steel roof, doors, etc. where as the 1948 and prior had an all wood body with the exception of the floor and cowl.
