Good morning to all,
I am in the process of restoring a 31 cabriolet. I have finally got the wood kit temporarily on the frame with the sheet metal attached. I purchased the car totally disassembled. I am now trying to complete the Top frame assembly. Does anyone have any photos of the frame assembly without the top Vinyl on? I have the wood bows and several metal pc. What a Puzzel!! Any help suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

I will send you a PM with contact information. I have two '31 Cabriolets currently in the reconstruction phase. Both have their bodies on the frame but no interior parts installed.

Here are a few shots, let me know if you need any specific pictures. I am at the stage of finding a top/upholstery person or trying it myself.

Dave

ps I should add I have a ruler holding up the rear top bow in approx. position. The top of it should be real close to level with the top of the front bow.

Dave,
Is there a metal brace on each side of the back bow which attaches to the hinge unit? Could i get a close up of the center hinge unit? Did you re chrome your top pieces? Are any of the pc available aftermarket?

The photos are a great help!!
Thanks Steve

I will get more photos. The back and middle bow are in the same hinge. I did re chrome the top pieces. There are people who make the bows but I did use the originals. John Potter was making some of the pieces like the Cabriolet top arm ferrules but he has moved and I am not sure if he is still making them. There may be others?

What parts do you need? I have some extra parts for the top and probably some of the body brackets. Will probably need to look them up so might take some time to find them.

Chip,
I have gone back thru my part boxes. I have found the bow hinges which I thought was missing.
I am missing some body brackets, but may have a lead on some.
Thanks again for today!
Steve

I restored a 32 olds deluxe convertible roadster which is actually a convertible coupe or cabriolet. My complete restoration is on the below AACA forum and there are many detailed instructions and photos. The olds and chevy used the exact same roof.
