Can anyone explain to me what the curling cord-like thing above the top right of the fender in this illustration from the 1932 paint guide represents? I understand the stipulation about the stripe in the groove but not this other thing. Thanks.
FYI, not all 1932 passenger cars had the fender stripes. Some original unrestored cars are either way. Speculation on why the differences range from: factory to factory, within employees, shifts or dates within a factory, among others. So the presence or lack there of should not be subject to points deduction in VCCA judging. However if present the stripe must be immediately next to the molding.
