41 Chevy Master Deluxe, 216, 3 speed.

Took the car out for about an hour drive. Mostly highway, not much shifting. Close to home the clutch petal started to stick down when pressed to the floor. It did always return just stuck and the popped up. was still able to catch it with my foot and shift to get the last few miles home. After the drive without the motor running when pushing the clutch the last two inches of travel felt like it was binding. Could hear a creaking noise also. Before that point it felt normal.

My some put some lube on the joints in the linkage to see if something was binding, no luck.

Few hours later after sitting in the garage all seems normal again. No noises, no binding, shifts fine.

My son did the mid season fluid check yesterday and found the tranny was full, no leaks this year.

Are there any known trouble spots to start looking at? Is there some point we should be lubing on the linkage we may have missed?

I have found that having an old car is a constant project that is never done. I think that is a good thing. Keeps me learning new things. Having two from different eras is just a form of higher education.
