I’ve been trying to figure out what this is and I believe it to be a very rare, dash mount ‘39 bright light indicator. I’ve never seen one, can’t find any other pics, but did find someone talk about it in an online forum, probably here. Can anyone confirm? Were they available in ‘38? ‘37? Someone also mentioned it has a red jewel in it, which mine is missing. Does anyone have any pictures? Thank you
It is a high beam indicator. Just like the one I put on my 38. The 38 had a "jewel". Yours (and mine) I believe is earlier. I've been told 36 but don't know if that's fact. Someone who knows will probably educate us both. When I rewired mine I replaced the incandescent bulb with a 6v red led. You can see mine peeking out in the picture below.

that s a high beam indicator for a 1938. Not needed on a !939 as itt was standard equipment . The '39 has it built into the speedometer at thr 50 MPH mark.
Gene, I believe the 38 had the red lens instead of the pinpoint hole. That's what shows in the accessory catalogue. I'll post an image when I get on the other computer.
Edit: Pictures of the 38 indicator are added below.

Picture one shows no red buy picture two shws red. ?? I am going by the color of the housing which is a light color. Earlier yeas years were dark color. The6 light color matched the accessory shift knob etc. as well as the choke, thottle knob the light switch knob on the Master Deluxe.
