G"Day.
I am self admittedly no camera buff. I have down loaded photos to these forums in the past with success. I am currently trying to post a couple photos that I took with a 16.1 mega pixel Sony Cyber Shot. I moved them from my camera to my laptop and then tried to add them to a thread I wished to post. Every time I try to move one over, I'm advised that mine are 2.9 MB and I can only transfer 2.86 MB.
I can't recall if I have tried moving photos taken on this particular camera to this forum before. But I have moved them to other venues outside the VCCA. I have no idea how to go about rectifying this..........or if I can.

Any thoughts.....?..... Thanks for Your time and attention.........Joe.......

There are size limits to pictures uploaded to the server. If you're getting the "too big" message you'll need to size them down.

Different software does it different ways. Probably the easiest is to change the camera settings to take lower resolution images. Another is to use software to resize them. I use a freeware application called Irfanview. I've read the Windows built in photo editor Paint can resize images.

Followup: I was able to go to my photos and hi-lite the one I wanted. Then I right clicked and found an option to re-size the photo. I resized it just a bit and that did the trick. I was then able to add it to my thread in the usual fashion.. .................FYI..............And again, thanks "Tiny" for the assistance..................Joe..............
