Greetings all, I am new to the forum and just became an official member, but I grew up in the VCCA and my Dad was a member dating back to 1968. Unfortunately, my Dad passed away this February so the year has been a crazy whirl of taking care of what he loved. One of the things he loved most was 1940 Chevrolets and we have one of his cars that the rest of his family and circle of friends just don't have room for. This is a real shame as this car is really special.
It is a Thoroughly Original, Unrestored, 50,000 mile survivor. The car was purchased with 46,000 original miles from Pellini Chevrolet in Sebastopol, California. It runs/drives beautifully. The color is Alameda green which was only available for 1940 and only in California. It has several options including flying lady hood ornament, bumper guards and tips, heater, and a locking gas cap. It is a truly nice original example. Dad went through the process of getting the Survivor/Preservation status established and truly loved to drive, and toward the end, be driven around in, this car.
My primary concern is that it goes to someone who will maintain its originality. I love a good hot rod, but seeing this car get LS-swapped would be really frustrating and I'm pretty sure Dad would not approve. I would probably start seeing stuff get knocked over in my garage mysteriously.

Thanks! It is a very cool car and pretty unique. Every time I start it I am amazed at how smooth and quiet it is even compared to some of our very nicely restored cars. There is just something about a low mileage original.

Was hoping to find a home for this car within the VCCA. Next step would be Bring a Trailer. It seems to be a good place for enthusiasts to find nice cars.

Agreed, just trying to gauge interest. I am hoping to get a few more good photos this weekend. I currently have the vehicle in storage so will need to get over to it to get the photos. While I do agree that more photos is good, the fact that it is a very low mileage original, I would think, should attract the right person to be interested. I am very focused on finding the right person to take on the responsibility of being the caretaker of this car.
