I found a broken spring on the ground under the driver's door. It's about 20-1/2 inches long. The coiled spring is maybe six inches. The rest is a long straight wire with an end to wrap around something.

Please see attached photos.

I need to know where this ends go and for what purpose? Thanks - photos or diagrams would help. I'm thinking clutch or brake pedal return spring.

Try pushing in each one and see if they return. I think it's the brake return but just guessing .

Hard to see but it looks like the emergency brake return spring.

Agree with Dave, the long spring is the parking/emergency brake spring TFS RW-37 approx 25" long

photos attached show this spring (photos installed on frame are courtesy of Chip in NC)

the one photo shows hte original one off my 1929 and then the new one from TFS

The Brake Pedal Return Spring is TFS RW-657 20.75" long

Car model might help. Picture looks just like the RW-657 brake pedal spring ( Filling Station) for a 27-29 and listed as 20-3/4". The easiest way to know is to get under the car and look.
