got a 56-235 in my car starts fine when cold or restarted after a few minutes go for a long ride and let sit cranks for what seems forever to start back up and sometimes backfires is the timing off a hair or is it vapor locking other then that no problems at all

My 38 was prone to do that until I replaced the condenser.

YOU Can try retarding the timing a little. You can do it with the octane selector so you can go back to the original setting if this does not help.
