I connected my 41 Chevy ton and 1/2 truck to 12 volt. Part of the conversion involved a new wiring harness. My original was toast. Now I want to connect the original horn but cannot get it to work. The new harness, complete with fuse panel, says it has an internal horn relay. Is this my problem ?

Test the horn by directly connecting both terminals to the battery posts. There should be an indicator for which one is positive.

The original 6 volt single horn did not use a relay. The circuit was grounded through the horn button. That eliminated the need for 2 wires in the steering column.

If there is a relay in the new circuit the coil side of it needs to be powered and then grounded by the horn button. And you will need to ground one horn terminal at the horn.
