Recently converted 41 Chevy Truck to 12 volt. Now I would like to use my 6 volt horn. I have a cheap ceramic resister that I can wire inline. Will that work or is there a stronger resister for a horn ? Thanks !

Don't worry about it. Your 6v horn will work just fine on 12v and it'll be MUCH louder. Just don't honk it for an extended period of time. As a kid my dad would go to the salvage yard and come home with 6v horns every time we traded cars. 12v horns weren't loud enough for him. laugh

Thanks Tiny. I don't expect to lay on it, just want to pass inspection.

I converted my 53 to 12v. The horns on it sound like train horns. They get your attention.
