I have a 27 or 28 doodle bug I am working on and I cant get one rear wheel off. I made a puller out of a hubcap with a 1/2" grade 3 bolt in the center. I tighten it on the hub and used a impact 3/4 to tighten it but it wont break loose. I rotated the wheel and tapped on the drum all the way around several times to no luck. It has wood spokes so I dont want to put heat in the center. Any ideas???? It has a 1 1/2 ton rear end with a 1927 engine and 3 speed trans

Loosen the center nut a turn or two and reinsert the cotter pin. Drive around the block, turning lots of corners. The wheel should be loose when you get home. This usually works.

Well I got the wheel off. I made a puller with a old hub cap. Drilled a 5/8 hole in the center and welded a 5/8 nut on it and used a 5/8 x 2" bolt. It took a breaker bar with a 4' long 1" pipe to break it loose.
