Thanks to a member I purchased a set of front shock relocation brackets for my 1940 Master Deluxe. I can't afford to replace the shocks right now and the oil is just running out of them. I can see how they mount, top bracket goes under the bumper mounting bracket (I think LOL) and the lower clamps to control arm at the very end, little space next to the spindle. What I question is the shock angle, pretty severe. I always thought a shock should be mounted as straight as possible, the more angle the less the shock works. I searched but can't anything on these brackets. I've seen 2 different types, but both mount the same. Just wondering if anyone has used them or maybe has them installed and could send me a picture. I attached a picture, the ones I have are like these.

I assume that you had a knee action front suspension. I did a similar conversion on a front straight axle '37. So this post might not be applicable.

In my situation the upper shock mount was mounted to the same holes in the frame where the lever am shocks mounted. That positioned the shock in a relatively vertical position.

If you determine that the upper bracket mounts to the frame make sure you install tube spacers to prevent collapsing the frame when you tighten the bolts.

Right, lever hydraulic shocks. I did that on the rear, made brackets to bolt in the same holes as the lever action shocks. These bolt to the same holes as the bumper brackets. The bottom mount goes at the end of the control arm, held on with a U bolt. I stuck them on yesterday. Shock angle is pretty severe as I thought it would be.

I'm working on another option, bolting to the crossmember. I think I'm going with that for now. Just need to weld the upright to the plate.

Make sure that your shock has enough travel when you change the orientation.

Yes I've checked that...several times actually. LOL.

I would love to install tube shocks on my Master sedan. If I can’t find a kit, I will modify it myself.
