I just picked up 4 champion 589 plugs for my 28 Chevy. I am replacing the w16y that it’s currently running and hoping for a little more power. Based on the online pictures I expected the electrodes to be longer. I attached 2 pics one of what I expected and the short one is what I received. Are these correct?
Thanks

The electrodes on the plug shown in the left photo are too long.

The W89D are the correct length. I run those plugs in both '28 engines that are in my two trucks.

If memory serves me correctly, I set the plug gap at .035" and the point gap at .018".

Correct distributor timing is crucial.

Cheers, Dean

Awesome thanks for the info. Now off to find directions to ensure my timing is correct.
