The oil slinger is like a big flat washer that goes on the crankshaft before the cover. As its name suggests it slings oil off before it goes through the crank hole in the timing cover.

OP ToddHendrickson Shade Tree Mechanic Joined: Apr 2017 Posts: 104 Woodstock, Il	I spoke with Gary Wallace and he has no oil slingers for sale and has taken apart many Chevrolet 4 cylinders and has never seen an oil slinger on a Chevy 4 cylinder
