What color was the part of the firewall on the inside of the cab? I know that anything welded to the cab was exterior color, but the inside firewalls in my '39 and '40 are a silver color. Is this bare metal that just didn't get painted from the factory, or what?

I don't know for sure, but my '37 1/2 ton looks to have been bare metal. There doesn't appear to have been any type of coating. It has "weathered" to a brownish black patina and as far as I can see is not oxidized or barely so.
