Has anyone taken of and re-installed their belt moulding and if so did you put anything between the moulding and the metal body panels to make it a water tight seal?
My car was in extremely poor condition when I started the restoration and I see no evidence of anything under the moulding itself

I use Sikaflex body sealant under bely mouldings. Not only seals moulding but stops paint cracking on joins.
